it really was about time we had a nice day. it had been poopy weather for the last few days and we certainly didn't come prepared for that. we heard that it was in the 70's ish here in the summer, with rain occasionally. so i thought, i'll bring a few light jackets (2 cloth hoodies) and some cardigans for a nice, but brisk, sunny day. and only 2 pairs of jeans and then like 3 pairs of shorts. well. as it turns out we've had quite a bit of rain. and weather in the 40's; 50's when we're lucky. so the weather sitution has been a little less than ideal but no prob, we're in germany. we're getting over it. and we just might go to H&M and buy a real jacket.
it was beautiful on wednesday, so we decided to go to tiergarten, i think the largest park in berlin. it was the perfect day for it. katie, mike and i were hungry so we stopped off at burger king real quick for a little snack. ps. today was katie's birthday (yay! birthdays!). she decided to order her own meal auf deutch, with mike nearby to help if need be. the cashier kept asking something and katie had mike translate and we figured out he was wondering if she wanted it in a meal. she thought she said no, not in a meal, and she also had tried to order it without onions. (she rehearsed the no onions part with mike beforehand). well it was sure a surprise when she got her order and it was a full meal, drink fries AND burger and came with onions. happy birthday katie! pretty funny.

we met up with the rest of the group at tiergarten park. it was so pretty. we sat down for a little bit just to enjoy and do some of our homework. so nice to just relax and be in the sun :)
